The American Cancer Society has set November 16 as the date for the annual Great American Smokeout, a day each year which thousands use as their date to quit smoking.
More than 7,000 chemicals in tobacco smoke. At least 69 of these chemicals are known to cause cancer, and many are poisonous.
Every year in the U.S., more than 480,000 people die from tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke.
